Ekong, Success, Hungbo, Dele-Bashiru react as Watford make instant return to Premier League
Published: April 24, 2021Nigerian quartet William Troost-Ekong, Isaac Success, Joseph Hungbo and Tom Dele-Bashiru are in celebratory mood following Watford's return to the English Premier League.
It has taken the Hornets only one season to make a return to the top-flight and they achieved promotion after beating Millwall 1-0 at Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon, thanks to Ismaila Sarr's winning goal from the spot in the 11th minute.
With only two matchdays to the end of the regular season, Watford are second in the table with 88 points, ten more than third-placed Brentford who have three games left.
Signed from Udinese in the summer transfer window, Troost-Ekong has been a key player since his switch, making 31 starts in the Championship.
Injuries limited Success and Tom Dele-Bashiru's appearances to only eight and two respectively, while Hungbo, one of the club's most promising youngsters, has played four games so far.
The aforementioned Nigeria-eligible players have taken to social media to react to the promotion of Watford to the Premier League.
