2017 Super Eagles invitee provides update on his contract situation at Trabzonspor
Published: July 27, 20212017 Super Eagles invitee Anthony Nwakaeme has provided an update
on his contract situation at Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor ahead of
their first competitive game of the new season.
The
veteran winger, who has entered the final twelve months of his contract
with Trabzonspor, has suggested that he has not held talks with the
club over extending his stay.
Nwakaeme has
been one of the most consistent Nigerian players in Europe since his
move to Trabzonspor but has been overlooked for an invitation to the
national team because age is not on his side.
In
109 appearances for the Black Sea Storm spread over three seasons, he
has directly participated in an impressive 61 goals (32 goals, 29
assists).
In quotes relayed by Turkish television channel TRT Spor, Nwakaeme said : "I am happy to be in Turkey and Trabzonspor. There is no problem.
"Whenever our management calls me and asks my opinions about the future, we sit down and talk. I am happy here."
Anthony
concluded by saying that he would love to play against his brother,
Dickson Nwakaeme and Ronaldinho before hanging up his boots.
