Ex-Roma fullback labels Osimhen 'indispensable' ahead of Napoli vs Juventus
Published: September 11, 2021Former AS Roma fullback Alberto Di Chiara has labelled Victor Osimhen an 'indispensable player' ahead of one of the headline Serie A matches of the weekend - Napoli's meeting with Juventus at the Stadio Maradona.
Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti has a selection headache heading into the matchday three fixture, with Osimhen reporting late to Naples following international duty with the Super Eagles this week.
The number 9 was initially ruled out of the clash against Juventus but the Blues successfully appealed to the Sports Court of Appeal to reduce his suspension to one game after he was sent off in the opening day win versus Venezia.
Di Chiara thinks Osimhen should be named in the starting line-up for the visit of Juventus.
Speaking to TMW Radio via mondonapoli, Di Chiara stated : "For Napoli he is an indispensable player. It is right to have exuberance and personality, but you shouldn't overdo it.
"Spalletti must be good at dealing selectively with all the members of the team, but he has the personality to do so. Indeed, I think he has already faced it."
Despite an injury-plagued campaign, Osimhen started sixteen of the 38 matches in the Italian top-flight in his maiden season at Napoli.
