Two players of Nigerian descent score for Chelsea in 4-1 rout of Arsenal U18s
Chelsea came from a goal down to thrash Arsenal 4-1 in an U18 Premier League derby at Cobham Training Center on Saturday afternoon.

Tudor Mendel-Idowu went the full ninety for Chelsea along with teammates goalkeeper Prince Adegoke and wing-back Derrick Abu while Richard Olise and Louis Flower came off the bench in the second half.

As for Arsenal, tall central defender Zach Awe was the only player of Nigerian descent given minutes against the Blues but was substituted at minute 65.

After Cozier-Duberry have given the Gunners the lead in the 14th minute, the home team hit back almost immediately as Castledine capitalized on an assist from Mendel-Idowu to score the equaliser.

Mendel-Idowu turned from provider to scorer when he bundled home from eight yards out after beating the Arsenal goalkeeper to the ball in the 28th minute.

The 16-year-old Anglo-Nigerian, a first year scholar, has scored and assisted in each of his last three games for Chelsea U18s in the division.

Chelsea killed off the game in the 62nd minute as Mothersille made it 3-1 and substitute Flower wrapped up the scoring with eight minutes left on the clock after he was set up by Abu.

Chelsea are topping the U18 Premier League table with 25 points accumulated after eleven rounds, seven clear of sixth-placed Arsenal.
