Glasgow Rangers captain sees 12-cap Nigeria international playing in the big leagues
Glasgow Rangers captain James Tavernier  reckons that Joe Aribo has what it takes to play at the highest level amid speculation linking the versatile midfielder with a switch to the Premier League in the coming months.

Aribo has probably been Rangers best player since Giovanni van Bronckhorst took over the managerial reins with three goals in his last four matches in the Scottish Premiership.

The form of the Nigeria international has been exceptional this season and he seems to be getting better almost every game that he plays for the Scottish champions.

Rangers are trying to renew Aribo's contract but he is holding out for a move to the Premier League and given the situation the Light Blues could be forced to sell him rather than losing him for nothing in the summer of 2023.

Speaking at Tuesday's pre-match press conference before the visit of St Johnstone, Tavernier said : "He’s an unbelievable player. He’s got all the attributes to be a top, top player and hopefully I can see that one day him playing in the big leagues.

"He’s got all the ability and he’s adding numbers to his game now. I think that’s key for him now to keep adding to those numbers with his assists and goals.

"His ability shines through but as soon as you add the goals and assists to it, then it takes you to another level.

"Hopefully he can continue that because he’s been a great ambassador for us this season."

Africa Cup of Nations-bound Aribo has twelve international caps for the Super Eagles, scoring two goals.
