Nigeria-eligible winger Chido Obi has taken to social media to announce that he has signed a new deal with English Premier League side Arsenal.

The highly-rated youngster will be among the new intake of academy scholars for the 2022-2023 season.

Obi has decided to commit his future to the Emirates Stadium outfit after starring for the U16s in the current season.

He is the second teenager of Nigerian descent confirmed to have been offered a scholarship for next season after Brian Okonkwo, the younger brother of goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo.

Writing on Instagram, Obi stated : "Proud moment for Me and my family to sign my scholarship with @officialarsenalacademy, the hard work continues".

Obi has been called up to a Denmark youth team training camp in the past and is eligible to represent Nigeria through his father.

The talented schoolboy will be promoted to Arsenal U18s team in the summer of 2022.
