18yo Anglo-Nigerian winger pictured training with Man Utd first team final workout pre-Boro
Published: February 04, 2022Manchester United's interim manager Ralf Rangnick promoted England youth international of Nigerian descent Shola Shoretire to first team training ahead of the Emirates FA Cup fourth round clash against Middlesbrough.
Through their official website, the Red Devils have published training images of their final workout on Thursday before the visit of the Teesiders and the 18-year-old winger was pictured exercising with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Jadon Sancho and Nemanja Matic.
Attack-minded duo Jesse Lingard and Edi Cavani will not be involved against Middlesbrough, increasing the chances of Shoretire being included in the matchday squad.
Despite speculation linking Shoretire with a temporary departure, the transfer window closed for English teams on Monday, January 31 with the exciting winger staying put at Old Trafford as the club preferred he's available to U23 boss Neil Wood for the rest of the season.
Shoretire has remained a key player for United youth teams this season, scoring seven goals and assisting five others in nineteen appearances combined in the Premier League 2, UEFA Youth League and EFL Trophy.
He played his first game under Rangnick in a dead rubber Champions League meeting with Young Boys in December, coming off the bench with 22 minutes remaining.
