Southampton, French giants could have potentially scouted Super Eagles stars including Aribo at AFCON
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Premier League side Southampton could have potentially scouted Super Eagles players at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations which comes to a conclusion on Sunday, February 6.

The Saints had a representative in Cameroon and it is unclear at this point whether or not he attended any of the four matches the Super Eagles contested at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium, Garoua.

Southampton would have monitored the progress of their winger Moussa Djenepo who was involved in all the games played by Mali at the Africa Cup of Nations with the exception of the 2-0 win vs Mauritania.

It is also confirmed that several French clubs monitored at close quarters some of Africa's biggest talents, including Ligue 1 giants Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais.

Southampton have been linked with a move for versatile Glasgow Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo, one of the Nigerian players that left the tournament with his reputation intact despite the national team's early elimination.

Moses Simon (Nantes), Ola Aina (Torino) and Zaidu Sanusi (Porto) are the other Super Eagles players who caught the eye in Cameroon.
