'Iheanacho should have done better' - Arsenal Invincible reacts to Leicester striker's missed chance
Published: February 07, 2022Arsenal Invincibles defender Martin Keown has delivered his verdict on Kelechi Iheanacho's missed scoring opportunity during the first half of Leicester City's 4-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup on Sunday.
Six minutes in, the Nigeria international missed a big chance to break the deadlock when his shot flew wide after he was set up by Luke Thomas.
The current holders of the FA Cup would pay the price for the missed chance as Philip Zinckernagel, Brennan Johnson and Joe Worrall scored three goals in the space of nine minutes to give Nottingham Forest a 3-0 lead after 31 minutes.
Iheanacho later made amends when he capitalised on a loose ball and finished into an empty net from a tight angle to reduce the deficit in the 40th minute but there was no comeback for Brendan Rodgers' team.
Though the ball was slightly behind the Foxes number 14, Keown insists that he should have hit the target.
"Really positive from Forest. They really go after teams early but Leicester work it really well down the left hand side," Keown said on BBC One during the game.
"The full-backs are going to tested. That should have been a better finish by Iheanacho."
