Two ways Arteta can utilize Balogun next season if he remains at Arsenal
Published: June 27, 2022Arsenal's Hale End academy is one of the best in the world when it comes to producing exceptional young players.
Hale End has produced some of the top players in world football, including Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Jack Wilshere, Tony Adams, Ashley Cole and a host of others.
Folarin Balogun, an Anglo-Nigerian striker, is one of the greatest prospects coming out of Hale End.
When he was loaned to Middlesbrough in the second half of the 2021/2022 season, he performed admirably, playing twenty-one games in all competitions for Boro whilst scoring three goals and setting up three others in 1,078 minutes of action.
As the new season approaches, the Gunners are in search of reinforcements for the team with the club already signing Fabio Vieira and on the verge of confirming the capture of Gabriel Jesus.
So, it is not yet determined if Balogun would be going out on loan or remain at the Emirates Stadium.
In the eventuality that the Anglo-American-Nigerian remains at the club for the 2022/2023 season, allnigeriasoccer.com analyses two ways he can be utilized by Arsenal's Spanish manager Mikel Arteta.
Option
While the Gunners have signed Gabriel Jesus and renewed Eddie Nketiah, both strikers are quite similar and there may be a need to spice things up during games.
With the Gunners highly unlikely to sign another striker, having Balogun as a third option is a pretty strong position with the Nigerian having a slightly different style from Jesus and Nketiah.
Early Cup Round games
Arsenal would be participating in four competitions next season and surely needs a big squad to compete properly.
The early FA and Carabao Cup rounds are a perfect avenue to rest first-team players which will provide valuable game-time for Balogun.
