Nigeria 4-0 Burundi: Three best and worst performers as Super Falcons thrash Swallows

Nigeria's Super Falcons qualified for the quarterfinals of the 2022 CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday night at the Moulay Hassan FUS Stadium in Rabat, Morocco after a comprehensive 4-0 win over Burundi.

The win means that Nigeria will face the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in the quarterfinals of the tournament after the central Africans finished in second place in Group B.

Nigeria started the game very well while pulling the strings and dictating the game. The Super Falcons totally took control and never looked like giving it up in what was a top-quality performance from Randy Waldrum's women.

Allnigeriasoccer.com will be highlighting three players who delivered good performances in the game and three others who had a game to forget despite the team generally performing well.

Good Performers

Rasheedat Ajibade

After the first match against South Africa in which she received a lot of criticism, Ajibade has redeemed herself with scintillating performances.

If she has the ability to play in the Atletico Madrid Female squad, she is certainly good enough for the Super Falcons.

Now that Randy Waldrum has got to know her a little better, he has put his trust in her and utilised her in several positions. She was instrumental in the games against Botswana and Burundi.

Osinachi Ohale

One underrated ability of Ohale is her reading of the game. She has the ability to be at the right place at the right time which is instrumental for a team that looks to play on the front foot every time.

Against Burundi, Ohale was everywhere and set the tone for a memorable victory.

Uchenna Kanu

A player with a rare blend of pace, skills and clinical finishing. Her qualities were on display as she tore the Burundi defence to shreds.

She also relieved pressure on Onumonu having to provide all the heavy lung-bursting runs in the attack.

Honourable Mention

Peace Efih

Worst Performers

Nicole Payne

Had a quiet game despite everything around her moving quickly. Useful in the build-up but offered next to nothing in attacking zones of the pitch. Needs to get involved more.

Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene

Getting more involved in the game as opposed to her atrocious performance against Botswana. However, she has not done anything close to the quality and talent she possesses.

With the knockout stages coming soon, Okobi has to offer more as smooth qualification may need it.

Esther Ogbonna

Had big boots to fill when she came on for Onome Ebi. Didn't do too badly but will need to do a lot more if she hopes to replace Ebi permanently.
