How Super Eagles striker could fit in at Newcastle United if offer to sign him is accepted

With the transfer window getting to the stage where deals get serious between clubs, allnigeriasoccer.com can confirm  that Premier League giants Newcastle have been offered the chance to sign Super Eagles and Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis.

With Magpies manager Eddie Howe keen to bolster his squad with a centre-forward signing before the close of the summer transfer window, Dennis looks an attractive proposition for the club.

Dennis's availability for a fee in the region of 20 million pounds and his intention of not playing for Watford next season following their relegation from the Premier League would make a deal even more attractive.

However, if the magpies were to accept the offer to sign Dennis permanently, how would he fit in at the club?

Allnigeriasoccer takes a look at the situation.

Dennis' style of play

Dennis can be likened to a "fox-in-the-box" kind of striker as he mostly comes alive when close to the box, but his game is a little bit more than that. He is a striker who loves to run the flanks and spin around defenders.

He has a nose for finding space and while not being the best innit, he is quite good in physical duels.

He thrives when he has support upfront in a sort of 2-striker system where he can feast on layoffs and knock-downs.

His technique is also top-notch but sometimes he tends to overplay the ball a little.

Newcastle's style of play

With the new influx of cash from their new Arab owners, Newcastle is an emerging force to reckon with.

With players like Allan Saint-Maximin, Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier, former Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has created an extremely attacking 4-3-3 set-up at the club.

Eddie Howe's 4-3-3 is however not based on Juego De Posición and it is extremely free with players being able to interchange frequently. However, one obvious theme is the reliability on the centre-forwards to win the ball up front.

Wood and Wilson are quite physical and excel aerially. This provides second balls for the onrushing midfielders and attackers to latch onto in open spaces or in attacking zones.

Allnigeriasoccer Verdict

With Newcastle's powerful attacking style that thrives on knockdowns and quick through balls, Dennis would undoubtedly feast if he is able to settle in at the club.

The Nigerian is also quite versatile and can fill the role of an attacking midfielder, winger or second striker if necessary.

He is also hungry and would love the chance to prove himself in the Premier League again.
