Ideho's goal and assist helps Arsenal U21s beat Durojaiye's Hereford FC in pre-season friendly
Published: July 14, 2022Joel Ideho scored the second of Arsenal's three goals as they came from behind to beat non-league club Hereford FC 3-1 in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday, July 13.
Ideho, Zach Awe, Miguel Azeez, James Olayinka and Nathan Butler-Oyedeji started for the Gunners, while former Tottenham Hotspur youth teamer Olumide Durojaiye was named in Hereford's starting lineup.
Hereford had a promising start to the game, scoring through Barnett in the opening minute, but James Sweet restored parity at minute thirteen after he was set up by Ideho.
And three minutes later, Ideho made it 2-1 by heading home past goalkeeper Wade, before Khayon Edwards got his name on the scoresheet midway through the second half.
Signed from Ajax Amsterdam, the Dutch-Nigerian winger will be aiming to make his senior debut for the Gunners in 2022-2023, in what will be his third season at the Emirates Stadium.
Ideho is set to be promoted to Arsenal's development squad on a permanent basis for the forthcoming season.
Nigerian-born defensive midfielder Tim Akinola is still undergoing rehabilitation from an ankle injury, so was not available for selection against Hereford FC.
