Due to his huge talent and high technical abilities, he was poached by Arsenal in February 1999 after twenty matches and one goal for Inter Milan.
Kanu proved to be a top signing for the Gunners winning two English Premier League titles, two FA Cups and one English Super Cup which is now known as the Community Shield.
By the time he left north London, he'd scored 44 goals and registered 29 assists in 196 appearances across all competitions for the Gunners.
Kanu is best remembered at Arsenal for his seventeen-minute hat-trick against Chelsea in a Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge in October 1999.
He has been the source of inspiration for countless young footballers to play the game and his impact in both football and non-football related matters are widely recognised.
His Kanu Heart Foundation has helped many people after its inception in 2000.
