Official : German Bundesliga club loan in Chelsea's Black Stars-eligible winger
Published: August 30, 2022German Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen have signed Chelsea's Ghana-eligible winger Callum Hudson-Odoi on a season-long loan.
The loan deal which takes the 21-year-old to the BayArena doesn't include an option or obligation to buy at the end of the season.
Hudson-Odoi has failed to earn a regular starting place since injuring his Achilles in 2019.
He leaves the Blues on a temporary basis and in search of regular game time that'd put him in contention for a place in Ghana's World Cup squad.
Hudson-Odoi finally makes a move to Germany, having seen his first attempt blocked by Chelsea. In 2019, FC Bayern Munich's bid for the winger was rejected by the Blues.
Hudson-Odoi made his Chelsea debut in January 2018 and has gone on to appear in 126 games in all competitions, registering sixteen goals and twenty two assists.
This season, he hasn't made a single appearance for the Londoners.
He has been capped three times for the Three Lions, playing in the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Montenegro in 2019, but remains eligible to represent the Black Stars of Ghana.
