Atletico Madrid & Sevilla stars, 4 Falconets named in Nigeria 20-player squad for friendlies v USA
Published: August 31, 2022Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum has picked four members of Nigeria's U20 girls that reached the quarter finals at the just-concluded FIFA U20 Women's World Cup in his 20-player squad for the upcoming friendlies against United States Women's National Team.
The four players promoted to the Super Falcons are defenders Oluwatosin Demehin and Rofiat Imuran, and midfielders Esther Onyenezide and Deborah Abiodun.
Spanish-based trio Osinachi Ohale (Deportivo Alaves), Toni Payne (Sevilla FC) and Rasheedat Ajibade (Atletico Madrid) are in contention to add to their international caps having made the squad list.
Home-based professionals Christy Ohiaeriaku, Akudo Ogbonna and Gift Monday are also in the delegation to the United States.
The United States and Nigeria will face off at the Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas on Saturday, 3rd September and their second game will be staged at the Audi Field in Washington, D. C. on Tuesday, 6th September.
