Leicester's Super Eagles midfielder expects a very difficult game against Manchester United
Published: August 31, 2022Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi expects a difficult game when Leicester City face off with Manchester United at the King Power Stadium on Thursday and believes a win will do the Foxes a world of good after an unconvincing start to the season.
Ndidi, who has endured a torrid time with injuries, spoke to the Club's official programme, CITY ahead of the visit of the Red Devils.
He missed a total of seventeen games at the back end of the 2021-2022 campaign due a knee injury which required surgery.
The midfielder has proved in the new season that his injury problems are well and truly behind him by going the distance in the first three games played by the Foxes in the Premier League and made a brief substitute appearance against Chelsea last weekend.
With only one point from a possible twelve, Leicester City will be aiming to halt a run of disappointing early form in the Premier League when they face Manchester United.
"We have to look forward to it. We have to get something out of it and we have to believe in ourselves," Ndidi said.
"Every game is not easy in the Premier League. I am expecting a very, very difficult game because they’ve got the confidence now. The first win would be a massive win because we’re hungry for it.
"That would give us more confidence going forward. We know what we have to do though and if we could that would be very good for us.
"The fans will be there to cheer us and will be there to see us give our all. When it comes to supporting us, I think the fans are brilliant. I am hoping for a very positive atmosphere and that would help us for sure."
Leicester City are unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches against Manchester United, winning two and drawing the others.
