Confirmed Man Utd traveling squad : Nigeria-eligible winger omitted from trip to Moldova
Published: September 14, 2022Nigeria-eligible winger Shola Shoretire will not be involved in Manchester United's Europa League clash with Sheriff Tiraspol despite training with the first team on Wednesday morning.
According to the club's official website, Shoretire isn't part of Manchester United's squad traveling to Moldova for their Europa League group game.
Manchester United lost their opening day encounter 1-0 to Real Sociedad at the Theater of Dreams.
The Erik Ten Hag-led side will be looking forward to bouncing back when they face Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday evening.
Despite the absence of strikers Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, manager Ten Hag has decided to omit Shoretire from the traveling squad to Moldova.
Although Shoretire hasn't featured for Man United's senior team this term, he has been frequently invited to train with the big boys.
Before the summer transfer window closed, the England youth international was rumored to be leaving Manchester United on a season-long loan, but no deal materialized.
The 18-year-old has made two appearances for Manchester United in the Premier League 2 this season.
Shoretire has been involved in five matches for the first team of the Red Devils since making his debut in February 2021.
