Aribo expected to play pivotal role in Southampton's search for win v Aston Villa
Published: September 16, 2022Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo is expected to play a pivotal role in Southampton's away clash against Aston Villa Friday night as the Premier League returns after a one-week break following the demise of Queen Elizabeth II last week Thursday.
The Saints have failed to win nine of their last 10 away matches in the Premier League.
Aribo has played in six of his club's games this season, starting in four of them and has scored one goal so far.
Southampton could call upon Moussa Djenepo and Ainsley Maitland-Niles into the starting lineup albeit the duo of Romeo Lavia and Tino Livramento will miss out through injuries.
Southampton inconsistent form could be their undoing as they have won two games, lost thrice and drawn one.
Aribo would need to be at his best and improve on his 'one shot per game' ratio if he is to stand a chance of winning the game for his team.
The kick off time is 8pm West African time.
