Tottenham 6 Leicester 2 : Ndidi, Iheanacho feature as Foxes set unwanted EPL record

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi was named in the Leicester City starting lineup by manager Brendan Rodgers for their embarrassing 6-2 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Saturday evening.

After seven Premier League games, the Foxes have conceded twenty-two goals, the most any side has shipped at this stage of this season, according to the statisticians at OPTA.

Ndidi, who had started the previous two matches for the Foxes in central defence due to injuries, played in a defensive midfield position.

International teammate Kelechi Iheanacho and former England international, Jamie Vardy were on the bench from kick off with Zambia striker Patson Daka starting upfront.

Belgian international Tielemans scored a 6th minute penalty after it was retaken due to the encroachment of players after having his initial effort was saved by Hugo Lloris.

Harry Kane soon restored parity moments later while Eric Dier headed home from a corner kick in the 21st minute.

Davinson Sanchez scored five minutes later but the effort was ruled out for a foul on the Leicester goalkeeper despite the ball deflecting off the hand of Ndidi.

James Maddison equalised for the Foxes four minutes before the half time break with a brilliant looping half volley.

Rodrigo Bentancur dispossessed Ndidi off the ball two minutes into the second half to put Spurs ahead once again.

Substitute Son Heung-min made victory certain for Tottenham when his 73rd minute shot from distance found the top right corner.

Son, who was keen to prove to manager Antonio Conte how wrong he was to leave him on the bench, scored an even better screamer six minutes to full time from the edge of the box.

Ndidi was then substituted by Boubakary Soumare in the 85th minute before Son completed his hat-trick when he slipped the ball underneath Leicester keeper Danny Ward.

Kelechi Iheanacho had a late chance to reduce the arrears but his final ball was disappointing.
