Nigeria set to provisionally cap-tie IFK Goteborg's Swedish-born defender at FIFA U17 WWC

The Nigeria Football Federation are set to provisionally cap-tie IFK Goteborg defender Halimatu Attervall Alase during the 2022 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup which kicks off in India this afternoon, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The 2006-born Alase has been included in the Flamingoes squad for the seventh edition of the U17 Women's World Cup and would become provisionally cap-tied to Nigeria if she makes her competitive debut against Germany on Tuesday.

She is also in line to feature against New Zealand and Chile on October 14 and October 17 respectively,

The talented teenager was named to the roster after impressing Nigeria U17s manager  Bankole Olowookere during the training camp in Abuja, in what was her second trip to Nigeria.

Touted as one of the most promising youngsters in Scandinavia, Alase qualifies to represent the Swedish national teams through her Swedish mom and she was also born in the country, while she's eligible for Nigeria through her father.

Alase was well received by her Nigerian-born teammates who succeeded in incorporating her into the Flamingoes team.

She is the youngest player to feature in a competitive game for IFK Goteborg, aged 13 years, 9 months and 22 days when she made her debut on 29 August 2020 against Jonsereds IF, and has spent three seasons with the first team.
