Leicester City coach reveals potential return date for Super Eagles midfielder
Published: October 14, 2022A potential return date for Wilfred Ndidi has been set by Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers.
The holding midfielder aggravated an injury he suffered while on international duty with the Super Eagles during the Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest on October 3 and was taken off at halftime.
Providing an update on the squad's fitness before Saturday's Premier League clash against Crystal Palace, Rodgers confirmed Ndidi remains out for Leicester City with a hamstring issue.
"He’ll probably be a few weeks. When he came off, we were looking at about three weeks. We think it’ll be around that period of time from last week," Rodgers told the national press in England.
Bearing in mind that the Foxes are not in action on October 24, Ndidi could potentially return to action when Manchester City visit the King Power Stadium on October 29.
If his rehabilitation goes according to plan, the Nigerian could also be in the frame to make his return against Wolverhampton Wanderers on October 23.
Ndidi has struggled with injuries since the start of 2022, missing seventeen of the last twenty six games played by Leicester City due to fitness issues.
Nigeria manager Jose Peseiro is hoping that Ndidi is available for Nigeria's international friendlies against Costa Rica and Portugal next month.
