Chukwuemeka faces Chelsea decision ahead of January transfer window
Published: October 19, 2022Nigeria-eligible midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka was a £20m acquisition by Chelsea from Aston Villa during the summer transfer window.
The youngster has so far made only one senior Chelsea appearance and is unlikely to get so many Premier League matches for the Blues until the Cup games (FA Cup and Carabao Cup) come around.
Many Chelsea fans will almost wager their money on Bet with stake.com that the Anglo-Nigerian will not be thrust in big games like the UEFA Champions League fixtures or the November 6 clash against Arsenal in the Premier League.
Chukwuemeka might only play an important role for the club before 2023 in the Champions League group stage should Graham Potter's men secure qualification to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League before the conclusion of the group stage matches.
In the light of this, it becomes imperative that the player reconsiders his immediate future with Chelsea.
The Stamford Bridge landlords are a massive club which prides itself as the 'Pride of London' as they throw subtle jibes the way of Arsenal and North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur for not having won the UEFA Champions League before in their history.
January however holds the key to the happiness and fulfillment for the youngster as the month signals the opportunity to sign for another club that in the winter window.
Despite the chances to impress in the supposedly smaller games for Chelsea, Carney should have it on the back of his mind that he needs to explore the winter window and seek a deal that will take him to a new club even if it's for a brief period until the end of the season.
Chukwuemeka is a gifted gem, one who is possibly going to rule the world of football if he is well catered for by his team.
Aston Villa, the club he last played for isn't doing so well in the Premier League as they are 16th on the Premier League table with 9 points on the table.
A good option will be to go on loan to Villa for the rest of the season where he started his football education.
Steven Gerrard has been under immense pressure for the most part of the new season and could do with the addition of his former youngster.
There are four games for all clubs to prosecute before the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Games they all strive to win.
With the 2022-2023 season fast approaching the halfway mark, not many coaches and managers in the English topflight are willing to take the huge risk of playing youngsters unless they are faced with injury or disciplinary issues.
Aston Villa might however wish to take a chance at a player they know too well when the transfer window reopens in about 10 weeks from now.
So far Chukwuemeka has played just 130 minutes of football this term.
The decision by his representatives must be made soon. Chukwuemeka needs game time and the English leagues including the Championship is great for his development albeit a foreign experience in other parts of Europe like Jude Bellingham at Borussia Dortmund is not bad either.
