2022 FIFA U17 WWC : How the Flamingos players rated in shootout loss to Colombia
Published: October 26, 2022The Nigerian U-17 women's national the Flamingos on Wednesday lost 6-5 on penalties to Colombia in the first semifinals of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India.

The starters
Goalkeeper
Faith Omilana : The keeper had a better game against Colombia than the quarterfinals clash with USA with strings of saves. 8/10.
Defenders
Omamuzo Edafe : Despite losing her spot kick in the shootout, Edafe had a decent game albeit she was in a spot of bother in the 29th minute when she miscued her clearance which Yesica Munoz could not take advantage of. 6/10
Comfort Folorunsho : Centre Back Folorunsho was impressive in the 90 minutes of regulation except a moment in the first half when her central defensive partner came to her aid to clear the ball that she misjudged. 6/10.
Shakira Oyinlola : Had a subdued game but came to the reduce of her partner in the central defence. Scored from the spot kick in the shootout despite looking jittery whilst approaching the penalty box. 6/10.
Tumininu Adeshina : The left back was restricted to play on her position and only moved forward in spares to join the attack to moderate the attacking threats of the Colombians. Subbed at halftime. 5.5/10.
Midfielders and strikers
Blessing Emmanuel : The captain had a great chance to put the team up but saw her shot go wide and off target. Made some vital interceptions. 7/10.
Taiwo Afolabi : Afolabi made some good passes in most parts of the game although there were some sloppy ones too. Converted her spot kick in the shootouts. 7/10.
Miracle Usani : Strong, reliable and resilient, Usani who played on the right side of midfield moved to the left back when Adeshina was subbed off at half time. She scored from the spot kicks. 7/10.
Bisola Mosaku : The right sided winger had a few moments she really troubled the opponents amd was disappointedly dispossessed of the ball in the 22nd minute when she had a defender to beat. 6/10.
Amina Bello : Not allowed to express herself in this game. Her linkup play with Edidiong Etim was not as seamless as Opeyemi Ajakaye who started from the bench. Subbed off for Edet Offiong. 5/10
Edidiong Etim : Started in place of Ajakaye. She was not as threatening as the latter in the attack. Scored from the spot . 6.5/10.
The Substitutes
Opeyemi Ajakaye : Came in at half time and almost scored but her shot in the 58th minute was blocked superbly. 6/10.
Edet Offiong : Came in on the 90th minute for the penalty shootouts basically. She scored hers. NA
Chikamso Jiwuaku : The substitute keeper has proven to be a penalty specialist. She saved one but was hapless in others as Colombia went on to win 6-5 eventually.
