Starting with the game at the San Siro. Fortune Bassey featured in Viktoria Plzen's 4-0 away loss to Inter Milan. The Nigerian started up front in a 3-4-2-1 formation but was subbed off at halftime.
Goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Edin Dzeko (2) and Romelu Lukaku were enough to seal the Nerazzurri's passage to the round of 16 ahead of FC Barcelona and Viktoria Plzen.
In the Group B game between Club Brugge and FC Porto, Zaidu Sanusi, Antonio Nusa and Raphael Onyedika all featured for their club sides.
Nusa and Onyedika were unable to save Club Brugge from a humiliating 4-0 home defeat.
Mehdi Taremi opened the scoring for the visitors in the 33rd minute, and it ensured they had a one nil lead at halftime.
In the 50th minute Ferran Jutgla missed his spot kick for Club Brugge, before Noa Lang also missed the retake.
Onyedika, who started and was in action for 80 minutes, got booked in the 56th minute following a foul play on his opponent.
Club Brugge were punished as Evanilson added the second for Porto in the 57th minute and just three minutes later, Stephen Eustaquio extended the lead for the Portuguese giants.
Taremi got his second and Porto's fourth of the night in the 70th minute.
In the 71st minute, Nusa was brought on as a replacement for Andreas Olsen, while Sanusi's night was also over in the 77th minute after he came off for Wendell.
Porto are one of the clubs through to the last sixteen after the fifth round of matches in the Champions Leaue.
At the Johan Cruijff ArenA, Calvin Bassey was unable to save Ajax Amsterdam from falling to a 3-0 loss to Liverpool.
Bassey was on for the entire duration of the game, making six clearances and two successful tackles.
Goals from Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliot were enough to send the Dutch giants out of the UEFA champions league.
And then at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, Victor Osimhen was not in action for Napoli in their 3-0 win over Rangers.
Giovanni Simeone's brace and a Leo Ostigard second half goal was enough to continue Napoli's perfect run in the champions league this season.
