EPL wrap : Chukwuemeka missing; cameos for Iheanacho, Edozie; Iwobi, Aribo go 90; Eze, Olise start

Allnigeriasooccer.com's round up of Nigeria eligible footballers who were in action for their respective clubs in the Premier League on Saturday 29th October, 2022.

We kick-start in the Midlands where Kelechi Iheanacho was unable to save Leicester City from a 1-0 loss to Manchester City at the King Power.

The 26-year-old was brought on as a replacement for Jamie Vardy in the 71st minute, having one shot on target and another off target.

Meanwhile, Wilfred Ndidi returned to the Leicester City team 26 days after suffering an injury relapse in their 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest on the 3rd of October, but was an unused substitute.

Kevin De Bruyne's goal in the 49th minute was enough to secure the maximum points for Manchester City.

Moving to the Vitality Stadium. Dominic Sholanke featured in AFC Bournemouth's 3-2 home loss to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Anglo-Nigerian forward was on for 89 minutes before being substituted for Jack Stephens, having no shot on or off target.

Kieffer Moore gave the hosts the lead in the 22nd minute after combining with Marcus Tavernier.

In the 49th minute, the Welshman got his and Bournemouth's second of the game following a well delivered pass from Adam Smith.

Spurs began the comeback in the 57th minute through English youngster Ryan Sessegnon.

Ben Davies's goal in the 73rd minute and Rodrigo Bentancur's late strike ensured that Antonio Conte's men got a 3-2 victory and moved up to third place in the standings.

At the G-Tech Stadium, Frank Onyeka's Brentford played out a 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Onyeka came on in the 83rd minute as a replacement for Joshua Dasilva and got a 100 percent pass accuracy.

Ben Mee met Bryan Mbeumo's cross with a powerful volley to put the Bees ahead in the 50th minute.

Just two minutes later, Mee's goal was canceled out by Ruben Neves' strike from distance and it ensured that both sides shared the spoils.

In the game between Chelsea and Brighton & Hove,  Carney Chukwuemeka was not in the matchday squad as the Blues lost 4-1 to the Seagulls.

After Leandro Trossard opened the scoring for the home team, own goals by Trevor Chalobah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek gave Brighton & Hove an unassailable lead.

Kai Haverts drew one back for Chelsea in the 48th minute but a Pascal Groß goal in the dying minutes of the game restored the three goal margin.

At Selhurst Park, Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise were in action for Crystal Palace in their 1-0 win over Joe Aribo and Sam Edozie's Southampton.

Former Nigeria U-17 invitee Malcolm Ebiowei was an unused substitute for Crystal Palace.

Tyrick Mitchell assisted Odsonne Édouard to give Patrick Vieira the lead in the 38th minute and that was enough to secure the win.

Eberechi Eze made way for Jordan Ayew in the 63rd minute while Samuel Edozie came into the game in the 74th minute as a replacement for Mohamed Elyounoussi.

Jaïro Riedewald then came on to replace Michael Olise in the 86th minute.

And lastly at Craven Cottage, there was nothing to separate Alex Iwobi's Everton and Tosin Adarabioyo's Fulham.

Alex Iwobi played the entire duration of the 0-0 draw while Tosin Adarabioyo was an unused substitute.
