In a Group E clash at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea defeated Dinamo Zagreb 2-1 - a victory that saw them finish with thirteen points, three more than AC Milan who thrashed Salzburg 4-0.
The big news regarding team news was the omission of Carney Chukwuemeka from the matchday squad after the midfielder failed a fitness test.
Chelsea didn't start well as Petković nodded in the opener seven minutes into the game but Raheem Sterling leveled for the Premier League side in the 18th minute before Denis Zakaria netted the winner on the half hour mark on his debut.
In Group F, Celtic completed their European campaign with a 5-1 loss to holders Real Madrid at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.
German-born Nigerian central defender Moritz Jenz went the full ninety for the Scottish Premiership champions.
Luka Modric opened the scoring after five minutes, converting from the spot after Jenz was penalized for a handball.
Rodrygo made it 2-0 from the spot at minute 21, before Marco Asensio, Vinicius Jr and Fede Valverde added three more goals for the La Liga side in the second half.
Six minutes from time, Jota scored a brilliant consolation goal for Celtic, curling a free-kick into the net from more than 20 yards out.
In Group G, Paul Mukairu was a non-playing substitute as FC Copenhagen and Borussia Dortmund shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw.
Thorgan Hazard with a half volley broke the deadlock inside 23 minutes but honors were even at the interval after Hákon Arnar Haraldsson equalised for the Danish champions.
