'What a player' - Chukwuemeka hails Chelsea teammate after impressive EPL debut
Published: November 14, 2022Nigeria-eligible midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka has praised Chelsea teammate Lewis Hall for his impressive performance on his Premier League debut in Saturday's 1-0 loss to Newcastle United.
Chukwuemeka wasn't in the squad as he's still recovering from a hamstring injury.
The England U20 international has not featured for Chelsea since their 1-1 draw with Manchester United on October 22, sitting out games against Brighton & Hove, Dinamo Zagreb, Arsenal and Newcastle United.
Hall was one of the shining lights in the Chelsea team in the narrow loss to the Eddie Howe-led Newcastle United.
The 18-year-old took to his Instagram handle to express his delight at making his Premier League debut.
"Special day yesterday making my Premier League debut, " he wrote.
"Not the result or performance we wanted, but we will stick together to put things right after the break."
In response to the post, Anglo-Nigerian youngster Chukwuemeka replied, "What a player".
Chukwuemeka made his Chelsea debut in the 3-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers in October 2022 and has since played two English topflight games more.
