Most goal involvements since 2022 : Tottenham loanee Udogie ranks second among defenders
Published: January 05, 2023Tottenham Hotspur-owned left-back of Nigerian descent Destiny Udogie played a key role in Udinese's 1-1 draw against Tyronne Ebuehi's Empoli in a Serie A match staged at the Dacia Arena on Wednesday night.
A goal from Roberto Pereyra with twenty minutes left on the clock salvaged a point for the Bianconeri.
Udogie teed up Pereyra and a brilliant finish from the skipper ensured Udinese got something from the game.
The statisticians at OPTA have highlighted Udogie's goalscoring contributions for Udinese since the start of 2022, noting that the Italy U21 international of Nigerian descent is the second highest ranked defender with the most goal involvements in the Big Five European Leagues.
The Italian-Nigerian has directly participated in 12 goals (7 goals, 5 assists) to rank second behind Marseille's France international Jonathan Clauss who has fifteen goal involvements.
Widely regarded as one of the top young defenders in the world, Udogie has played in 31 Serie A matches for Udinese since the start of 2022.
The 20-year-old signed a multi-year contract with Tottenham Hotspur last summer but was immediately loaned back to Udinese to continue his development.
