Confirmed : Shakhtar Donetsk's Super Eagles striker Kayode joins Turkish Super Lig club
Published: January 30, 2023Turkish Super Lig club Ümraniyespor have announced the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk's Super Eagles striker Olarenwaju Kayode.
The former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles star has put pen to paper on a contract until the end of the 2022-2023 season.
The 29-year-old moved to Shakhtar Donetsk in the second half of the 2017-2018 season from Manchester City on loan. and was signed on a permanent basis in the summer of 2018 for three million euros.
Kayode has already arrived in Istanbul and held his first training session with his new teammates at Ümraniyespor.
He has appeared in 24 matches across all competitions for the current Ukrainian champions, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
Kayode has enjoyed loan spells at Gaziantep and Sivasspor since moving to Shakhtar Donetsk.
His other clubs include ASEC Mimosas, Luzern, Maccabi Netanya, Austria Vienna and Girona.
Ümraniyespor, Kayode's new club, are last in the Super Lig standings with fourteen points from 20 matches played.
