Fenerbahce confirm Super Eagles right-back has suffered a calf injury
Published: May 16, 2023Super Eagles right back, Bright Osayi-Samuel has picked up an injury which could see him miss Fenerbahçe's season run-in.
According to a statement released on Fenerbahçe's social media handle, Osayi-Samuel picked up the injury in training and a scan revealed that he suffered a tear and bleeding in his left calf.
It is the second time the 25-year-old has picked up an injury this season, having missed Fenerbahçe's league games against Ümraniyespor and Kasimpasa in January.
Osayi-Samuel's injury is a blow to Jorge Jesus' side who are hoping to finish the season on a high by winning the Turkish Cup as winning the league has become unlikely with Galatasaray looking poised to secure the trophy
The Super Eagles right-back has struggled to nail a place in the Turkish outfit's starting XI, having started ten games so far and coming on a substitute twelve times in the Turkish Super Lig.
He has featured 36 times in all competitions for Fenerbahçe this season and has registered one assist.
