Revealed: Sheffield Wednesday's Nigerian midfielder offered three-year deal by Hatayspor
Published: June 20, 2023
More details have emerged about Fisayo Dele-Bashiru's proposed move to Turkish Super Lig club Hatayspor.
The 2019 Flying Eagles invitee is preparing to bid farewell to Championship new boys Sheffield Wednesday after turning down a new contract.
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that Dele-Bashiru has been offered a three-year contract by Hatayspor.
The Manchester City academy product is scheduled to travel to Turkey this week to conclude transfer talks with Hatayspor.
Dele-Bashiru attracted interest from a couple of clubs in the English Football League but he is leaning towards joining the club based in the Hatay Province because he wants to play for a top-flight European League club.
Should the central midfielder put pen to paper on a contract with Hatayspor, he will become the second Nigerian player to represent the club in recent years, after Babajide David.
Hatayspor withdrew from the Turkish Super Lig in February as a result of the earthquake that affected the team, but will continue competing in the division in 2023-2024.
