Turkish giants Besiktas in talks with former Olympic Eagles striker
Published: July 09, 2023Turkish giants Beşiktaş are reportedly in transfer talks with former Olympic Eagles forward David Okereke just a year after his move to Italian side Cremonese.
Through their social media channels, Sports Digitale have informed that Beşiktaş are interested in bringing the versatile forward to the Turkish Super Lig and are discussing with him on moving to the club.
The Black and Whites finished third last season in the Süper Lig with 78 points, 10 points adrift of champions Galatasaray and have shown intent on bolstering their attacking options with the addition of the Nigerian forward.
Okereke joined Cremonese from Club Brugge last summer on a three-year deal, and scored 7 goals in the Serie A last season for the relegated side, one less than the club's top scorer Daniel Ciofani who scored 8 goals.
In all competitions, the former Club Brugge forward registered nine goals and two assists in 38 appearances.
The Grigiorossi could demand a sizeable fee for his services due to their financial status which is a consequence of getting relegated to the Serie B and the fact that he just joined the club.
Should Okereke leave, he will be the second Nigerian to depart the Italian outfit in the summer transfer window, after Cyriel Dessers who recently completed his move to Glasgow Rangers.
