'Tormented the left-back'- PL pundit details how Saka outshone Udogie in first half of NLD

Premier League pundit Adrian Clarke has detailed how Bukayo Saka outshone Super Eagles-eligible left-back Destiny Udogie in the 2-2 raw between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon in the first north London derby of the season.

Udogie faced his biggest test yet since the start of the Premier League campaign when he came up against Saka but didn't fare too well in the first half.

The 20-year-old's strongest opposition before facing the England  international on Sunday was Manchester United's embattled forward Antonio and was not rattled by Brazilian.

He has been great for Ange Postecoglou's side since he made his Premier League debut against Brentford on match day one of the Premier League.

Clarke in his review of the Arsenal v Tottenham encounter explained how Saka got the better of the Nigerian-Italian left back but also gave credit to the latter for finishing the game strongly.

Analyzing  Sunday's derby, Clarke wrote on Arsenal's official webpage: "Saka's duel with Destiny Udogie made for an outstanding watch throughout the course of the afternoon. Our brilliant 22-year-old winger tormented the Italian left-back throughout the first period, running at him almost every time he took possession of the ball.

"His teammates constantly looked to release our number 7, especially after his marker received a caution before halftime, and the bulk of his touches occurred inside the final third."

"To his credit Udogie stuck to his task and made life more difficult for Saka after half-time, but by the final whistle, the Hale End graduate led our matchday rankings in a variety of different categories."he wrote for Arsenal's official website

Udogie will be up against another stern test when he faces in-form Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah when Spurs face Liverpool at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.
