Solanke joins Arsenal. Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd stars in BBC's PL Team of the Week
Published: November 13, 2023BBC football pundit Garth Crooks has selected his Premier League Team of the Week following the conclusion of matchday 12, with one Super Eagles-eligible player making the cut.
Dominic Solanke's outstanding display for Bournemouth in a 2-0 win over Newcastle United at the Vitality Stadium has earned him a place in the Team of the Week.
The Chelsea academy product was the hero for the Cherries, scoring a second half brace to secure three points for the home team.
Solanke made the most of a hesitant Newcastle defence and slotted home with an angled drive to break the deadlock on the hour mark and thirteen minutes later he doubled the advantage when he bundled in a rebound.
Nine different clubs have contributed players to Crooks' BBC Team of the Week, namely Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Ham United, Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Chelsea.
In a 3-4-3 formation, Alisson starts in goal protected by a back three of Victor Lindelof, William Saliba and Vitaliy Mykolenko, while the midfield contains Pablo Sarabia, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Tomas Soucek and John McGinn.
And in attack, Solanke is flanked by Liverpool star Mohamed Salah and Chelsea winger Cole Palmer.
On Solanke, Crooks wrote: "What fabulous improvisation from Solanke for his second goal of the match. These were three massive points for Bournemouth and manager Andoni Iraola."
Solanke's brace against Newcastle United took his tally for the season to 7 goals in 15 appearances so far this season.
