Ajax Amsterdam striker Chuba Akpom has been recognized for his outstanding performance in the last round of matches in the Dutch Eredivisie with football statistics website Whoscored.com selecting him in its Team of the Week.
Akpom took his career tally to 89 goals in all competitions with his brace for Ajax Amsterdam in a 3-1 win at PEC Zwolle on Sunday, March 31.
The Hale End Academy graduate made a rare start in the league for the Amsterdam club due to the injury enforced absence of Brian Brobbey.
Akpom doubled the advantage at minute 24 with a close range finish and restored Ajax's two-goal cushion in the 84th minute after Filip Krastev pulled one back in the 72nd minute.
In a 4-3-3 formation, the Ajax Amsterdam number 10 occupies the right side of attack, with Sparta Rotterdam's Tobias Lauritsen and NEC Nijmegen's Sylla Sow taking up the other two forward positions.
Akpom was awarded a Whoscored rating of 8.44 for his efforts against PEC Zwolle.
The 28-year-old registered a joint-game high three shots, along with Steven Bergwijn and Younes Namli, while winning two fouls for his team.
Akpom completed 62.5 percent of his passes registered 32 touches and won a joint-game high five aerial duels.
