Former Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses has put himself in contention to be named in Spartak Moscow's matchday squad on Wednesday, April 3 when they face off with Zenit in the Fonbet Russian Cup , after returning to group training.
The retired Nigeria international was not called up for the goalless draw against Ural this past weekend as he was recovering from injury.
According to Championat, Moses trained with the rest of his teammates before Wednesday evening's clash at the Lukoil Arena in Moscow.
The midfielder sustained an injury in the second leg of the quarterfinals of the RPL Fonbet Russian Cup against Orenburg.
He entered the game after halftime but got injured during the latter part of the second half and was replaced by Christopher Martins in the 74th minute.
This season, Moses has appeared in sixteen matches across all competitions for the Red and Whites, registering a goal and an assist.
Since October 2020, the Crystal Palace academy product has been playing for Spartak Moscow, initially joining them on loan before signing a permanent deal in July 2021.
The 33-year-old also counts Wigan Athletic, Liverpool, Stoke City, West Ham United, Inter Milan and Fenerbahce as his former clubs.
Moses's contract with Spartak Moscow expires at the end of the 2023-2024 campaign.
