Chippa United slap N2.3b price tag on Nwabali amid links with QPR, Union SG, Kaizer Chiefs

South African DStv Premiership side Chippa United have set a staggering R30 million (approximately ₦2.3 billion in Nigerian currency) asking price for Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, according to Goal.com.
The 27-year-old shot-stopper emerged as a surprise hero for the Super Eagles at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament held in Ivory Coast.
Nwabali, making his tournament debut at the continental showpiece, impressed with his assured presence in goal, keeping four clean sheets in seven appearances.
His heroics were crucial in helping Nigeria reach the final, where they were eventually edged by the host nation.
Nwabali's heroics did not go unnoticed, with the former Enyimba goalkeeper attracting interest from several clubs across the globe.
Queens Park Rangers from England's Championship, Belgian club Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, South African giants Kaizer Chiefs, and Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ettifaq have all been credited with an interest in securing the services of the Nigeria national teamer
Chippa United are reportedly demanding a hefty 30 million rands for Nwabali, a price tag that has reportedly put off Kaizer Chiefs.
With the asking price deemed reasonable for the other interested clubs, this move suggests Nwabali could be set for a move abroad.
Nwabali reportedly has a contract with Chippa United that runs until the summer of 2026.
It remains to be seen whether the interested clubs are willing to meet the hefty price tag set by the South African club.
The stock of the former Katsina United glovesman has risen considerably following his impressive showing at the AFCON, and he is likely to be a sought-after player in the upcoming transfer window.
