Confirmed: Golden Eaglets-eligible forward joins West Brom on two-year deal
Published: July 02, 2024With a statement on their official website, Championship outfit West Brom have announced that ten young hopefuls have signed scholarship terms for the 2024-2025 season.
Golden Eaglets-eligible forward Adam Okorodudu will begin the forthcoming season as a first year scholar, having put pen to paper on a two-year contract until June 30, 2026.
Okorodudu has joined West Brom from grassroots sports team XYZ Academy and was offered a contract following a successful trial.
He made his debut in the U18 Premier League in May, featuring off the bench for the last fourteen minutes as the Baggies were beaten 3-2 by Reading.
His former club XYZ Academy describes him as a striker with blistering pace and lethal finishing – a combination that will remain, no matter how football evolves.
Okorodudu is not only lightning quick across the ground, he also shows greater speed of thought than most defenders, spotting opportunities to run in behind before his opponents, and exploiting the space he creates for himself to devastating effect.
He is also a composed finisher and thrives in one-v-one situations with opposing goalkeepers.
Goalkeeper Liam Wilkes, defenders Alfie Maughan, Noah DuPont, Idrissa Dauda, Adam Letlat and Abdul Abudu, plus three midfielders Charlie Blackshields, Matthew Crowther and Rio Parmar have also signed scholarship terms with West Brom.
