Ndidi not joining Celtic; club icon Vardy informs teammates Leicester must stay up no matter what
Published: July 03, 2024Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that speculation linking Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi to Scottish Premiership champions Celtic in the summer transfer window are incorrect.
It was suggested that the Hoops were offered the chance to sign the central midfielder and he would be willing to reunite with manager Brendan Rodgers, with whom he worked with at Leicester City, but this website can report with certainty that there is no truth to the reports.
Ndidi has played his most games as a professional with Rodgers in the Leicester City dugout, registering eleven goal involvements (5 goals, 6 assists) in 138 all-competition appearances.
Nothing at all has changed regarding the future of the Nigeria international and all those transfer stories out there are not from the player or his representatives.
Ndidi, who captained the Super Eagles in their back-to-back World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and Republic of Benin in June, will definitely extend his contract with Leicester City.
The Foxes secured an immediate return to the Premier League by winning the 2023-2024 EFL Championship.
Ahead of the start of pre-season preparations, club icon Jamie Vardy has personally contacted his teammates at Leicester City, urging them that they must do everything possible to retain their top-flight status no matter what happens, amid speculation that the King Power Stadium outfit are facing a potential points deduction for breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules.
In his rallying cry to his teammates, Vardy urged them to remain focused and dedicated as they aim to achieve their goal of Premier League survival.
