Arsenal make improved offer to keep Flying Eagles-eligible striker amid Bayern, Borussia Dortmund interest
Published: July 03, 2024Arsenal are working tirelessly to retain the services of talented Flying Eagles-eligible striker Chido Obi-Martin who has caught the attention of German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
According to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners have improved their offer for the 16-year-old in a bid to ward off interest from European clubs.
As confirmed earlier by allnigeriasoccer.com, he has been offered a two-in-one deal, the first is a scholarship deal while the other is a professional contract.
Mike Arteta rates Obi-Martin highly and is pushing for him to stay at the club following an impressive campaign with the U18s last term but striker has yet to commit his future to the club and is now a free agent as his schoolboy registration ended on June 30, 2024.
Arsenal have already lost the services of talented youngsters Reuell Walters and Amario Cozier-Duberry this summer with both players turning down a new contract proposal and wouldn't want to lose another but are running out of time.
Commenting on Romano's update about the Gunners improving their offer for Obi-Martin, the Secret Scout has also revealed that the club have until July 8 to get the striker to sign his scholarship deal.
The Denmark U17 international was the standout player for Jack Wilshere's side in the U18 Premier League last season, scoring a remarkable 32 goals.
