Leicester midfielder Ndidi joins Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd stars in PL Team of the Week
Published: September 16, 2024Wilfred Ndidi has been named alongside Arsenal stars Gabriel Magalhรฃes and Gabriel Martinelli, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland and Manchester United's duo Matthijs de Ligt and Amad Diallo in Whoscored Premier League of the Week
In his fourth consecutive start for Leicester City this season, Ndidi was the star for the Foxes as he had in two goals they scored against Crystal Palace at the Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.
He assisted club legend Jamie Vardy for the opener in the first half before creating the chance for the second goal by feeding Stephy Mavididi at the start of the second half to register a brace of assists for the first time in the English top-flight.
His effort to give Steve Cooper's side their first win of the campaign was undone as Jean-Phillipe Mateta scored two goals to help Crystal Palace figure back and rescue a point in the game.
The 27-year-old's performance in South London was enough to secure a place in the Team of the Week, securing an 8.15 rating.
De Ligt and Diallo helped Manchester United recover from their humbling defeat at the hands of Liverpool by beating Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu's Southampton at the St.Mary's Stadium to join Ndidi in the team.
Haaland grabbed a brace for Manchester City to claim maximum points against Brentford at the Etihad Stadium while Gabriel got the only goal in the North London Derby with Martinelli also playing a role as Arsenal maintained their dominance over city rivals Tottenham Hotspur
Manchester United, Ipswich Town and Arsenal had the most representatives with two players, respectively, while Everton, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Leicester City had one apiece.
