Super Falcons captain Ajibade beats Barcelona, Real Madrid stars to win Liga F Player of the Month
Published: October 07, 2024Super Falcons skipper Rasheedat Ajibade has started the season on fire with Club Atlético de Madrid Femenino, just like the way she ended the last campaign.
She was Las Rojiblancas Player of the Season last term and she hasn't rested on her laurels, keeping up her form as evidenced in the first few games of the current campaign.
Ajibade was named the Liga F EA Sports Player of the Month for September following her contribution to Atlético de Madrid in the said period.
She got an assist when the Madrid-based side defeated Granada before grabbing a brace and an assist in their 4-0 thrashing of Valencia at the Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna.
Then, the 24-year-old finished the month in grand style, scoring a hat-trick in Atletico Madrid's comfortable home win over Madrid Club de Fútbol Femenino, otherwise known as Madrid CFF.
The Nigeria international beat Caroline Weir (Real Madrid CF), Ewa Pajor (FC Barcelona), Elba Vergés (SD Eibar), Karen Araya (Madrid CFF), Nerea Nevado (Athletic Club) and María Llompart (FC Levante Badalona) to the award.
Ajibade will be presented with the award before Atlético de Madrid's clash with Real Sociedad on October 19 at Centro Deportivo Alcalá de Henares, the Spanish side's home ground.
