No Osimhen to Chelsea in January but sale of France star could shake things up
Published: November 29, 2024According to The Athletic via Football Insider, Victor Osimhen will not be joining Chelsea in the January transfer window unless an extraordinary offer is received for French star Christopher Nkunku.
The Stamford Bridge outfit are said to be happy with their attacking options but will reassess their position if an irresistible offer is received for Nkunku.
The 27-year-old has played second fiddle to Nicolas Jackson, as he has started just one Premier League game this season but has been in the starting lineup for all the UEFA Europe Conference League matches including the qualifying rounds.
Due to his squad status, he has been linked with Manchester United, but Chelsea are ready to keep him, except the Red Devils are ready to pay a fortune for his signature.
Should he depart, the West London club will reignite their interest in Osimhen, who is having a remarkable loan spell with Galatasaray.
The 25-year-old has a break clause in his contract, which permits him to leave the Turkish giants in January but has declared that he intends to stay at the club for the rest of the season.
For now, the Napoli-owned striker is set to move only next summer, dashing Chelsea and other suitors' hopes of securing his signature during the January transfer window.
