Nigerian exports: Three CBs willing to play for Super Eagles score in EFL; Itodo, Samu, Omochere strike

Allnigeriasoccer.com's round-up of the Nigeria-eligible players who scored for their respective clubs in matches across Europe on Saturday, December 21.

In the EFL League One, Promise Omochere saved Bristol Rovers from an embarrassing home loss to Wrexham at the
Memorial Stadium, scoring an equalizer with four minutes left on the clock.

Omochere headed home a delivery from Luke Thomas for his third league goal of the season.

Mansfield Town earned a deserved 1-0 home win over Rotherham United, thanks to Deji Oshilaja’s composed first-half goal.

The London-born centre-back, who has committed his international future to Nigeria, slotted past the goalkeeper in the 27th minute, his second goal in his last three games in the third tier of English football.

A division lower, central defender Joseph Olowu netted his second of the season as Doncaster Rovers defeated Tranmere Rovers 3-1 at Keepmoat Stadium, heading in the opener after 37 minutes.

Born in Ibadan, Olowu has pledged his international future to Nigeria over England and was in Poland to cheer the Flying Eagles during the 2019 Fifa U20 World Cup.

Another central defender willing to representing the Super Eagles, Omar Sowunmi opened the scoring as Bromley registered a 2-0 road win against Morecambe in a League Two clash at Mazuma Stadium.

Nineteen minutes into the game, the giant defender nodded home from close range to give his side the lead.

Sowunmi has cited Chelsea legend John Terry, ex-Real Madrid stars Raphaël Varane and Pepe, and Barcelona icon Carles Puyol as his role models.

Elsewhere, Spain international Samu Aghehowa scored and provided an assist to inspire Porto to a 3-0 rout of
Moreirense in a Liga Portugal game held at Moreira de Cónegos.

One of the hottest strikers in European football at the moment, Samu broke the deadlock in the 19th minute and was involved in Porto's third goal, setting up André Franco at minute 88. He has sixteen goals in 20 games this season.

In the Albanian Kategoria Superiore, Peter Itodo continued his rich vein of form as Dinamo City secured a 2-1 victory over Egnatia Rrogozhinë.

Itodo netted in the 26th minute, taking his tally to eight goals in seventeen games so far this season.
