Super Eagles fullback Ola Aina has earned a spot in the BBC's Premier League Team of the Week after a standout performance in Nottingham Forest's 2-0 victory over Brentford on Saturday.
Aina, who scored the opening goal for Forest, played a pivotal role in the team's win at the Gtech Community Stadium, making them the first team to defeat Brentford at home in the current campaign.
In addition to his goal, Aina was a defensive rock for Forest, contributing six clearances, three interceptions, two tackles, and winning four ground duels.
His solid defensive display ensured that Forest kept a clean sheet, further highlighting his all-around contribution to the team's success.
The BBC's Premier League Team of the Week is selected by former Watford striker and current pundit Troy Deeney, who picked players based on their performances over the weekend's fixtures.
Aina's inclusion in the lineup is a recognition of his consistent excellence throughout the season.
The team, which follows a 4-3-3 formation, is dominated by Liverpool players, with four of them making the cut after their dominant 6-3 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
Aina, alongside Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold, Everton's James Tarkowski, and Bournemouth's Dean Huijsen, filled out the defensive positions.
In midfield, Deeney selected Liverpool's Dominik Szoboszlai, who impressed in the win over Tottenham, as well as Matheus Cunha of Wolves and Arsenal's Thomas Partey.
Up front, Liverpool's Luis Diaz, Newcastle's Alexander Isak, and Mohamed Salah were all included.
Aina's inclusion marks a recognition of his growing importance to Nottingham Forest this season.
With two goals in 17 Premier League appearances, the Nigerian defender has been a key figure both defensively and in attack.
