After rejecting Panathinaikos, Manchester City and Leicester old boy Iheanacho wanted by PAOK
Published: January 30, 2025Greek champions PAOK have shown interest in signing Manchester City and Leicester City old boy Kelechi Iheanacho in the winter window to fortify their forward position for the rest of the season, according to the online edition of top Spanish newspaper ABC.
Iheanacho, who joined Sevilla in the summer as a free agent, has struggled to adapt to life in the La Liga, scoring three goals in eleven matches across all competitions.
His struggles have created uncertainty surrounding his future- with rumours linking him with a move to several top clubs, including a return to England.
The Nigerian International was recently linked with a transfer to Panathinaikos, though he reportedly rejected the offer in hopes of finding a more favorable destination.
With a few days to the end of the winter window, Iheanacho is drawing interest from Greek champions, PAOK Salonika.
The Greek champions first registered interest in signing Kelechi in the summer but failed to secure the deal as he opted for a move to Sevilla as a free agent.
Sitting fourth on the league table, PAOK have reignited interest in the Nigerian forward to boost their attacking options till the end of the season.
The White Blacks are reportedly willing to pay up to two million euros for his transfer to convince him to make the move.
Having signed Akor Adams to bolster the attacking options, Sevilla will be open for the exit of Iheanacho.
However, it remains to be seen if the Super Eagles forward would sanction the move in January.
