TAYE TAIWO Happy To Be Linked With Move To Benfica
Published: May 27, 2012
Taye Taiwo says he is honored to be linked with Portuguese giants Benfica. It is being speculated that Taiwo could be used as makeweight in the deal by AC Milan to sign Benfica's Witsel in the summer transfer window.
The defender who joined AC Milan last summer from Marseille failed to convince the Milan faithfuls, and had to be farmed out on loan to Queens Park Rangers in the winter market.
''If Benfica want me for next season, I can only thank them for the interest shown in me. My idea is to develop each season and next season will be no different. Therefore, Benfica is a good club so I can grow and improve. I think that fits well, because the Portuguese league has many quality players with great technique,'' Taiwo told Malaysia website Ibcbet Calm.
According to the website, Queens Park Rangers has been told by AC Milan that they are not interested in selling Taiwo.
''I can not change things. If I really do not continue here (QPR) in the summer I go to another club. My initial idea was to continue, because I think Queens Park Rangers is a club with growth potential . Manchester United and Chelsea are the biggest clubs in England, but Queens Park Rangers can slowly approach these two great clubs,'' Taiwo said.
