PRINCE ETUWE Targets Promotion Chase
Published: May 30, 2012
25-year-old Nigerian midfielder Prince Etuwe is determined to help IK-Brage into Sweden's top flight at the end of this season.
Though Brage are 11th on the 16-team Superetann table, only six points separate the side from second placed Halmstad. That gap could have been reduced to three points if the Sweden Federation had not postponed the tie between both clubs earlier scheduled for Saturday, June 2nd.
''We were to play Halmstad on Saturday. But their goalkeeper was invited to the National Team, the Sweden Under 21 squad. So, the home game was now postponed and shifted to July 17,'' Etuwe told allnigeriasoccer.com.
He added: ''The plan before the season started was for us to be promoted. But after nine games, we find ourselves in a position which is not so good. But that promotion target is still possible. There are many more games to be played to correct our mistakes, and climb up the table.''
Etuwe signed a two -year deal with IK Brage last December. There is an option for an additional season in his favor when the contract elapses.
