ADEOLA RUNSEWE Hopes For Silkeborg Resurgence
Published: September 20, 2012
Nigerian offensive player Adeola Runsewe suffered relegation with HB Koge at the end of last season. However, on a personal note, unarguably that campaign was his best since his arrival in Denmark seven years ago.
This summer the 22 - year - old former FC Ebedei talent signed a multi - year contract with Silkeborg. The form of the Jutland based club in the Super Liga has been dismal, leaking in goals at the back and struggling to score at the other end.
''I don't really know what is wrong, why we find ourselves in the position we are presently. We have been playing very well in the championship, but sometimes we are unlucky to get three points or even a draw. This team is good and I believe we are going to bounce back soon,'' says Runsewe to allnigeriasoccer.com.
Silkeborg's next two games will be against Scandinavian giants FC Copenhagen and in-form AaB. The two teams are first and second respectively after nine rounds played in the Danish topflight.
Runsewe is refusing to throw in the towel and is optimistic that a result against any of the teams will bring a spark to the team.
''FC Copenhagen is a good team but football is 90 minutes. We are not under any pressure, we are going there to play our game and hope for the best. And the next game at home to AaB, that is the game I am sure we will win. It will give us a lot of confidence if we take points from any of these fixtures,'' the ex FCM player said.
Adeola Runnsewe has suited nine times (eight starts) for Silkeborg in the Danish championship this season.
